"This is a posthumous portrait of a beautiful young
woman, who sadly passed away.When I was shown
the photographs of Sonia, I was struck by her
beautiful face and captivating expression. A truly
timeless and elegant young woman.

I hope this portrait captures something of the
essence and life of Sonia. The photograph I worked
from was taken in the very late seventies, only a
couple of years after I was born, which just goes to
show how a timeless image can be painted at any
point in the future, and it will always continue to
capture the appearance and essence of the subject.

I always aim for the posthumous portraits I do to
capture more than a simple image.

Somehow portraits have the power to do this more
that a photograph."
