"This portrait was the first
ever portrait of Dickie painted from life. It was
painted during his retirement year and the background
features Barnsley cricket ground.
The portrait and its process was featured in BBC's 40
minutes. The portrait was later exhibited at The Cooper Gallery and received a lotof coverage.
Dickie was very pleased with the portrait and said he
was "over the moon" with how it had turned out. Although the background is of the Barnsley cricket ground, Dickie actually sat for the portrait in his garden!" |
